The end of a week.
The beginning of a weekend.
The place between busy and calm.
A time to reflect.
A time to make plans.
Dinner out.
Or maybe a movie in.
Time to downshift.
It takes some time.
Unpack my bags.
Put my schoolwork away.
A final check of emails.
Pour a glass of wine.
Sit on the couch.
And now,
Finally,
I relax.
Sounds like the perfect ending to a crazy day!
Yay for the weekend! That transition from work week to weekend is so sweet! You capture it beautifully in simplest of forms with minimal words! Thanks for sharing!
Captured Friday perfectly here.
I actually said AAAAHHHH when I got to the end of your post. I know this feeling – and you captured the complex – simplicity of the moment so well.
Yes that’s the way it really shapes itself out as captured by your slice!
You deserve a calm ending to a busy week. Love that you captured it in a poem.
Ah, yes. Time to relax, reflect, and recover. Love the word “downshift.”
Hi Erika,
I hope I see you this weekend! I love how you captured the transition from busy week to calm weekend in a poem. I love the routine feel to how you unwind.
My post today was a bit of a counterpoint to yours. You made a slice out of finally relaxing. I had to make a slice out of not feeling relaxed. I like your way better!!
